Pat Shontz Day

The city welcomes the community to join in a beach cleanup and beautification celebration for the first ever Pat Shontz Day on Friday, January 19th. The beach cleanup is to begin at Archibald Beach Park at 8:00 a.m. This was the nearest beach to her beloved home. Bags, gloves, and supplies will be provided. Just last year the City of Madeira Beach lost one of their most beloved residents Patricia Shontz. Hers is the name that now resides as the honorable title of the city’s commission chambers. Shontz served as mayor, six terms as a city commissioner, and on many local boards and committees. The city has chosen to complete this act of kindness to the beaches, sea life, and community to replicate the way Shontz spent every day.
