CITY OF MADEIRA BEACH BOAST BEST SUMMER CAMP IN PINELLAS With daily field trips, reasonable rates, engaged group leaders and waterfront location Madeira Beach Recreation’s Summer Camp may be the best in Pinellas County.

Madeira Beach, FL, April 10, 2017– The City of Madeira Beach opened their new recreation facility in 2015. The waterfront recreation center is complete with three onsite ballfields, two tennis courts, a basketball court, pirate ship themed playground, a splash pad and more. Just when you think all of this and their close proximity to the beach would be enough to have a successful camp the program additionally takes every group off site daily for planned field trips and activities. “Every week is themed to keep our campers constantly moving and engaging with each other and their surrounding communities. Bringing them to new places keeps the camp vibes alive and makes their days more fun.” – Carrie Kepics, Childcare Director Summer staff is composed of local college students returning home from across the nation to adventure along with their groups in addition to the center’s core staff. Each counselor adds to their unique educational experiences as they are coached throughout the summer in leadership, sportsmanship and positive encouragement. Campers are placed in groups and assigned activities appropriate to their ages. On and offsite leader to camper ratio is kept very low, field trip ratios are one leader per 10 children or less. “Working at Madeira Beach has taught me to be a role model for kids. I look forward to coming home and working with them during my school breaks.” – Maverick Abulone, Digital Media Production Student at Florida State University Every week has a unique theme but campers make a splash weekly visiting local pools and beaches. This year’s teen camp has a separate vehicle to take middle school campers on further trips, to theme parks, and other local wonders like Big Cat Rescue. “We have a one of a kind camp. Our staff continues to raise the quality of excursions, activities, and counselors year after year while keeping a low reasonable rate for our local families.” – Doug Andrews, Recreation Director With so much activity, engagement, and adventure Madeira Beach is a shining star in the Pinellas County camp options this summer. Enrollment is open to all Pinellas County residents and visitors. Young campers must have completed kindergarten to register. Registration costs vary depending on duration of camp attendance by week. Resident and sibling discounts are available.
